Making A New Friend

I can't believe it. A friend of mine introduced me to a friend of his earlier this week. He told me that his friend is interested in learning about disabilities, so he asked me to put her in my Facebook friend list- so I'd be able to communicate with her about my disability and explain the challenges that I've faced growing up and entering college.
It's really nice that I get to help educate someone who's younger than me about disabilities. You don't always find very many people who are interested in learning about disabilities. I'm actually glad that Zach's friend is interested in learning about disabilities. It makes me feel proud that I actually have a disability, and I can use it to educate others.

My Interesting Life As a Student

Springfield, Illinois, United States
I'm living in Springfield, but I'm originally from Chicago. I am now living in a group home for people who are visually impaired. Living at the Mary Bryant Home has been a huge step in my life. I am now able to get involved in activities every day. I am making lots of new friends, and I'm enjoying living with my new family. Since I'm the youngest person, I feel like I have lots of parents and grandparents, and even my best friend, who is like a big sister, to spend my time with. I don't think I'd change this for anything else in the world.
