Wow, Am I In College

I like being a college student; however, making the transition from living at home and going to school- to going to school far from home, living in a dorm- hasn't been easy for me. I'm glad that I have such good friends, who are also in the same situation. It's fun to go through new experiences, especially when I know that I am not the only one. Although I have a disability, I don't let that stop me from trying to be a good college student. I try to face all challenges with a very positive attitude. I don't let my disability get in the way of my dreams and goals. Life is hard- at times- for me because of the many challenges that I regularly face. No matter how tough life is for me, I'm not the person who gives up trying right away. I might ask for help, but I most certainly WON'T give up without a good fight. I have a lot of good friends, who I love very much. Really! I don't think I'd be the person I am if I didn't have such wonderful friends.

My Interesting Life As a Student

Springfield, Illinois, United States
I'm living in Springfield, but I'm originally from Chicago. I am now living in a group home for people who are visually impaired. Living at the Mary Bryant Home has been a huge step in my life. I am now able to get involved in activities every day. I am making lots of new friends, and I'm enjoying living with my new family. Since I'm the youngest person, I feel like I have lots of parents and grandparents, and even my best friend, who is like a big sister, to spend my time with. I don't think I'd change this for anything else in the world.
