Countdown To The End of the Semester

With only four or five weeks left in the school year, time is definitely going to start to pass quite quickly. Luckily, I only have two classes, and being busy with them helps the time to "seem" like it's going fast. Coursework keeps me busy, but it also wears me out a lot. The most tedious thing about taking two courses is that I have to go to the opposite end of campus for them. Wheeling myself to another end of this campus is stressful on my arms. By the time my day is done, my arms are sore and tired from all that pushing.
Summer should allow me to rest my tired arm muscles, before another gruelling academic year. My dad at first thought that I'd only be using my wheelchair during adverse weather conditions, but my disability doesn't allow me to carry anything heavy like a backpack full of heavy textbooks. Using my wheelchair eliminates me from having to carry a heavy backpack to and from my classes, and it helps me safely get around during crazy weather- even though it's exhausting.

My Interesting Life As a Student

Springfield, Illinois, United States
I'm living in Springfield, but I'm originally from Chicago. I am now living in a group home for people who are visually impaired. Living at the Mary Bryant Home has been a huge step in my life. I am now able to get involved in activities every day. I am making lots of new friends, and I'm enjoying living with my new family. Since I'm the youngest person, I feel like I have lots of parents and grandparents, and even my best friend, who is like a big sister, to spend my time with. I don't think I'd change this for anything else in the world.
