Weather Affects How Well I Get Around

I think that it's interesting to share my experiences of trying to successfully make it through college. Physical struggles have happened quite a bit. My disability throws me curve balls and sliders almost on a regular basis. Weather conditions are the #1 factor in how well I'm able to easily maneuvor around campus, whether it's on foot or in my wheelchair.
Today was especially difficult. It's been unusually cold for April 4. I seriously thought that we had already seen winter for the very last time during the early part of March- with all the cold winds and unexpect snow flurries. Boy, was I wrong! I guess Mother Nature didn't want to totally losen her tight grip on winter just yet.
By it being so chilly and windy, getting around without running into things with my wheelchair was "practically impossible". If I attempted to drive at a normal speed, the wind would push me at a high rate of speed- especially down any hills and inclines, mainly by the radio station building and around the corner towards where my math class is located.

My Interesting Life As a Student

Springfield, Illinois, United States
I'm living in Springfield, but I'm originally from Chicago. I am now living in a group home for people who are visually impaired. Living at the Mary Bryant Home has been a huge step in my life. I am now able to get involved in activities every day. I am making lots of new friends, and I'm enjoying living with my new family. Since I'm the youngest person, I feel like I have lots of parents and grandparents, and even my best friend, who is like a big sister, to spend my time with. I don't think I'd change this for anything else in the world.
