Too Cold for Spring- and Extremely Windy

Whoosh! Roar! Weeee!-- the wind begins to blow,
Louder and louder-
Faster and faster;
What a windy day!
I’m so small,
I feel like I could topple over-
Like a tree caught in a storm.

Whoosh! Roar! Weee!--- the snapping of limbs-
And branches,
Tells me there’s a bad storm coming.
I better go inside;
To the smell of cookies baking,
And the sound of Mom calling-
“Where have you been?”

Whoosh! Roar! Weee! Now, I’m inside-
Nice and warm,
Out of the dangerous weather.
Inside with people I love,
I feel safe-
And happy-
Out of the elements.

My Interesting Life As a Student

Springfield, Illinois, United States
I'm living in Springfield, but I'm originally from Chicago. I am now living in a group home for people who are visually impaired. Living at the Mary Bryant Home has been a huge step in my life. I am now able to get involved in activities every day. I am making lots of new friends, and I'm enjoying living with my new family. Since I'm the youngest person, I feel like I have lots of parents and grandparents, and even my best friend, who is like a big sister, to spend my time with. I don't think I'd change this for anything else in the world.
